Valentine's Day Round Up: For Kids

Valentine's Day is coming up and I love to make holidays extra special for Olivia.    This year I'm planning pink, red, and heart shaped balloons and fun breakfast of heart shaped pancakes and fruit for her to wake up to! I've also filled her bookshelves with Valentine's Day themed books for her to enjoy all month long.

She loves to help in the kitchen and I know she'll love to make & eat chocolate covered pretzels! Re-Play plates are our favorite and I can't wait to get her some flat plates in bright pink ;)

Target always has fun dollar spot finds and these window clings are perfect for her to stick and re-stick (twenty times a day).  I also love that "xoxo" cute to hang in your little one's room or playroom.

Crafts are one of our favorite things to do and it's so important to develop their fine motor skills.  Cutting & gluing are great for them to learn at an early age! This bee craft is simple and fun to get in the Valentine's Day spirit ;)  She's super excited to make Valentine's for our family and friends so we'll be making plenty of these.

Lastly, there are so many cute Valentine's Day books out there.  We normally buy ours on Amazon and also check them out at our local library.  Some of our favorites are: Happy Valentine's Day Mouse,  Ollie's Valentine,  The Biggest Valentine EverClifford's First Valentine's Day, and What is Love, Biscuit?.

What are some of your favorite Valentine's Day books?  Do you have a favorite craft to do with your little ones? I'd love to hear!

It's a Beach Birthday Party!

Yesterday, my sister had a birthday party for Brynn and it was such a cute beach themed day! She turned two earlier this month so she was a pro at blowing out her candles and listening to everyone sing Happy Birthday to her.  Poor Olivia had a 102 temperature so she had to miss out on all the fun and stayed home with Rob.  She woke up this morning singing "Happy Birthday, BB", not knowing she missed everything so we'll have leftover cupcakes tonight ;)

The birthday girl!

Everything was decorated with a beach theme and my personal favorite were the cupcakes and crab veggie platter.  Pinterest inspired, of course.  To make the crab, slice the top off of the pepper and turn it upside down.  Slice "legs" and "claws" and assemble!  I also used olives and capers for the eyes.  Such a simple, fun addition to a plain veggie platter! For the cupcakes, my sister used mini Teddy Grahams and lifesavers, along with blue icing and crushed golden oreos.  They came out so adorable!!  Now, on to all of the pictures...

Kiddie pool filled with ice and beverages...brillant

Lastly, a sneak peek of the gift I made for Brynn... can't wait to show you during the week!

Have a great Sunday!

Holiday Home Tour 2014

Welcome to my holiday home tour!  Most of the decorations are from Home Goods, TJMaxx, Target, and local shops.  There is also a mix of fresh and faux greens throughout the house. Hope you enjoy a glimpse into our home during the holidays!

The first stop is our living room...

Next up is our dining room...

Next is our kitchen...

And just a few special touches in Olivia's room...

I hope you enjoyed a peek into our home this Christmas! I'd love to know your thoughts! Now leaving you with our Santa visit picture this;)...Definitely a keeper for when she's 16.

And my favorite holiday picture of her... I just love the wonder in her eyes...
