Grapefruits are one of my favorite fruits...especially enjoyable after a long, cold winter. While it's still cold here, there's glimmers of sunshine and I wanted to try out a yummy breakfast. Caramelized grapefruit is where it's at. Sweet and sour, crisp and juicy...so fresh and simple. This would be good for an afternoon snack as well.
Caramelized Grapefruit
One Ruby Red or Pink Grapefruit
Sugar - white, raw, or brown
- Slice the grapefruit in half, section pieces, and remove pits
- Sprinkle on sugar - however much you prefer
- Place under broiler or use a small dessert torch to caramelize
